A note from a kind and gracious client. Most of our work consists of providing a no strings attached grant to a client for a portion of his/her rent. We’re grateful for the means to be able to help.
Thank yous
Thank you. 10 Years of Serving our Neighbors in Jesus’ name.
2022 Friend and Fund Raiser a Success!
We are grateful for an amazing Friend and Fundraising Breakfast, hosted at Rush Creek Golf Club, on Friday, October 7, 2022.
The total number of people planned and the target for our fundraising we both exceeded. We praise God for the generous people connected to our work.
With these funds, we intend to continue our pace to help 500 families again in 2023.
So very heart warming!
It is never expected, but so wonderful, to receive an acknowledgement from a client we helped.
This young lady is a student, who works and is putting herself through college. She is picking up more hours at her job while on winter break.
Not only is she industrious, she is also gratuitous in providing us with this little thank you card.
So kind and thoughtful. Unnecessary but appreciated.
Grateful Partners
We have SOOO many great partners, organizations that work tirelessly to house the homeless and encourage those who are struggling. Threshold is just one (and a small one) of many in our area that does this good and needed work.
Above, we share a thank you we received from one of our many partners. This work is hard and can be discouraging. Messages like this one help to encourage us to persevere and continue to be faithful to our mission.
This REALLY socks!
How generous is this?
These boxes are filled with 250 high quality #bombas socks. Such a great company. For everyone sold, they donate a pair. Our organization has received and distributed nearly 2,000 #bombas socks to date…with more now to give.
We’re are eternally grateful for our many, fine and giving partners.

We LOVE Rotary Clubs!
Our founders, Carla and Richard Bahr, have been provided the opportunity to speak to four Rotary Clubs in 2019 (so far). We LOVE their purpose-based approach, involving community and serving others as the means to work on solving big, global problems such as fighting disease and providing clean water in developing nations.
The most recent talk was at the Roseville Club where they shared about this ministry and how they got involved in serving others. Richard’s most recent book, Those People, was also promoted and sold with all proceeds going to this ministry.
Partnering with others is the best way to work on BIG problems – like housing and homelessness.
Thank you also to the Blaine/Ham Lake, Orono, Brooklyn Park for your willingness to host us and for your care for “the least of these”.
Featured in Maple Grove Magazine
The June 2019 issue of Maple Grove magazine, features the work Threshold to New Life does in the community, and aims to inspire others to step in and serve “the least of these”, as Carla and Richard Bahr have committed to doing for the past several years.
It covers their approach to being a small but vital part of helping those in the homeless community and their efforts to reduce homelessness by providing aid to those at risk of losing their current housing.
We’re grateful to the editor and publisher for choosing to tell this story.

“The Chill Sisters”
Once in a while you receive such encouragement you just can’t keep it to yourself.
We received this greeting card and seven individual personal checks providing encouragement and monetary support to our organization. We have had no contact with any of these ladies before. Apparently, one of them saw our story in the mass media and shared it with the others. Here’s their words:
“Our group “The Chill Sisters” every Christmas for 42 years have been together and support a cause. Your story and the lives you are changing is inspirational. Assisting people prior to being homeless and helping those who are overcome spoke to our hearts. God has been a very big part of all of our lives. We love to spread his love for all people. Helping your fellow man is important to us. God Bless! Thank you for what you’re doing.”
May God bless these ladies. We’re SO thankful for their assistance and encouragement. Lives will be changed due to their efforts.
Merry Christmas to all!
What is the big deal about 146?
We have a generous donor that will match the first $3,000 donated in December! If you’re moved to support this effort financially, click on this link to donate.
Thank you for all of your support in 2017!
